FOOD SUPPLEMENTS WITH VITAMINS, MINERALS AND OMEGA-3 FATTY ACIDS:
LIVSANE Pregnancy + Breastfeeding period 2 has been specially developed for the increased nutritional requirements of expectant mothers from the 2nd trimester of pregnancy and breastfeeding women. In this important phase of life, women have a changed need of nutrients, because they supply also their baby. LIVSANE Pregnancy + Breastfeeding period 2 supports mothers and babies with the necessary nutrients in a targeted way – from the 13th week of pregnancy until the end of the breastfeeding period.
From the 13th week of pregnancy is beside folate especially DHA (polyunsaturated Omega-3 fatty acid) particularly important. DHA maternal intake contributes to the normal development of the brain and the eye of the fetus and the breastfed infants.***
Folate (folic acid and Metafolin®*) has a role in the process of cell division and contributes to normal blood formation and to maternal tissue growth during pregnancy. LIVSANE Femifolin 2 contains as folate source a combination of folic acid and Metafolin®*. Metafolin®* does not need to be converted into its active form by the body, but is directly available for utilisation. The combination of both ingredients supports a sufficient folate supply also in women with impaired metabolism to convert folate.

***The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 200 mg of DHA in addition to the recommended daily intake for omega-3 fatty acids for adults, i.e.: 250 mg DHA and EPA.
